Casinos – Between November and February the Jaycees can be hired to provide entertainment to Year-End Business Parties, Banquets, Shin-digs, and you name it. Craps, Roulette, Black Jack, and other games are available upon request. This is a great way to support the organization financially during the Winter months.
Bluesmore - The Cedar Rapids Jaycees staff the beer tent at Brucemore during Bluesmore, a partnership between the Brucemore Historical Society and the Linn County Blues Society. Proceeds from beer sales go to all three organizations. Bluesmore is typically the first Saturday in August and runs throughout the day. Friday After work Clubs (FACs) and Saturday Night Outs (SNOs) – Fun networking events for our members. Basically just an excuse to go out Friday or Saturday and have a good time!
Run/Punt/Pass – We run Run/Punt/Pass (football focused) event in the Fall. This is a great opportunity for young kids to come out, have some fun, and compete against others in a safe environment. Winners get to go to the State Event, which has typically been held at the UNI Dome.
Sunday Breakfasts - Typically about once a month the Jaycees will host a Sunday Breakfast at the Jaycee Center. Proceeds from these breakfasts typically go to local community organizations. These breakfasts have ranged from pancake, to omelet, to french toast. Click the link for more information.
Super Shooters - Very similar to Run/Punt/Pass but basketball focused. This event is in the Spring. In 2009, 2010, and 2011 the State Event has been held in Cedar Rapids.
Toyshop – We partner with several organizations to help provide Christmas for kids every year. We’ve typically helped out over 3,000 children have a great Christmas. Toy Collection begins in November and toys are distributed in mid-December.
Uptown Friday Nights TM – Uptowns started in 1988. It provides music downtown on Fridays in the Summer and allows young professionals the opportunity to network, socialize, and relax after a busy work week. In the 90’s it moved from various locations and had different running times. At the turn of the century it found its home in Greene Square Park. Look for us there, every summer, from 5-8pm.
